Reasons to Take a Vacation

Change things up. When you go on vacation, routines are usually left behind. Change up your mundane daily life. Break the routine and take a vacation.
It's fun! I don't think there's much explanation needed here. You know how to take a vacation and have a little fun, right?
You can learn new things. Not always, but if you take a vacation to a place you've never been the odds are pretty good you'll learn a few new things.
Self reflection. The break in pace can allow you to take a step back and do some reflection. Take moments throughout your vacation to consider the things that matter, come up with new ideas, or just regain focus. Regroup, recoup, and reflect when you're on vacation.
Relax, of course. If you're not stopping to relax, you're not on vacation in my opinion. If you have work calling or e-mailing you ever so often you're also not on vacation and you're not relaxing. Relax and cut the ties from work for a while. You'll be better off for it.
You can build on your relationships. Most people take vacations with someone else. Whether it's a friend or loved one take the opportunity to build on your relationship. A vacation is a great way to get closer.
Refresh your mind. A vacation is a great way to clear your mind and help you regain focus. Especially if you work in a high stress environment. Your mind can become muddled and it's easy to lose focus. Refresh your mind when on vacation.

Deadwood's Mardi Gras 2012

Its that time of year again... Deadwood's Mardi Gras is happening February 10 & 11, 2011! The perfect excuse to get out and shake off those mid winter blues!

The People's Parade is taking place Friday February 10th at 7pm and while the Annual Mardi Gras Parade takes place Saturday February 11th at 7pm.

Winter Fun

With all the unseasonably warm weather we've been having in the Black Hills this winter, its hard to think about snow... but we know one day the snow is sure to sneak up on us! The ski resorts like Terry Peak and Mystic Miner have snow and continue to make snow to keep up with the warm temperatures!

If you're in the area and looking for something to do, consider hitting the slopes at one of the resorts. If your not into that, Mystic Miner has the Zero Gravity Tube Park that is sure to create some lasting memories. If slowing down and enjoying all that nature has to offer is your idea of fun, then cross-country skiing or snowshoeing on the George S. Mickelson Trail might be for you!

This 3-level (3,000 sq. ft.), 4 bedroom, 2 bath home, features a wood burning fireplace on the main level, gas fireplace in lower level, wrap-around deck, hot tub, ping pong table in loft, and speaker for i-pod.

The main level great room has 24 foot ceilings, kitchen with center island, dining room area, bedroom (full-size) with patio doors to the hot tub and deck area with adjoining bath; lower level is a walkout basement with living room (queen-size sofa sleeper) and bedroom (king-size) with adjoining bath, along with separate entrance to ski storage area and twin size bed. The loft area has 2 separate bedrooms with 3 twin beds, plus 1 twin and 1 full sized bed.

It features 2 stone-gas fireplaces along with old log railings in and outside the home. The master bedroom has its own walk-in tiled shower. The walk-out basement has a fireplace and could easily sleep a couple extra children. It has a front porch, back deck and large cement patio, which are all covered.
